Are you trying to maximize your protein intake, bu Are you trying to maximize your protein intake, but also trying to enjoy some fast food? Well well well, this worked out beautifully for you then.

The items listed here are the highest protein fast food items you can get UNDER 500 calories.

I had to cap it there, or else we’d be looking at a Triple Whopper with cheese that has 76g of protein, but also 1,300 Calories. I figured we had to draw that line somewhere, and that somewhere ended up being 500 calories.

When I set out to put this guide together, I was really surprised that these weren’t all chicken options. I had to triple-check my numbers for both McDonald’s and Burger King, because it didn’t seem right that the burgers would have more protein.

But rest assured, these burgers have more protein than any of the chicken sandwich or nugget options (for the options under 500 calories). For reference, a 10-piece chicken nugget order at Burger King has 480 calories and only 20g of protein.

Now, these options aren’t necessarily the most bang for your buck in the protein department, because I’m looking at single items only. You can get 24 grilled chicken nuggets (two orders of 12) from Chick-fil-A for 400 calories and get an insane 76g of protein, but that would be cheating the rules that I just made up for this guide.

Getting in quality protein when eating fast food can prove challenging (if you want to venture away from only grilled chicken options) but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some decent options out there for ya!

And of course, you can always make substitutions to get the most out of whatever it is you’re ordering, so there are plenty of solid options outside of what is listed here.

Am I missing any of your favorite go-to’s? Let me know⬇️

Eating for enjoyment is not a bad thing. I’ll n Eating for enjoyment is not a bad thing.

I’ll never forget the time that somebody told me that eating should ONLY be for fuel. They told me that if you eat for enjoyment, you’re bound to develop an eating disorder.

Sure, emotional eating can very much become a problem. If you’re exclusively eating foods that have no nutritional value, or eating strictly to improve your mood, that can be a real problem.

But eating foods that bring you joy sometimes it not a bad thing.

I don’t know about you, but pizza makes me very happy.

When I eat pizza, it’s not because I’m trying to be super healthy. It’s because I love pizza, and it puts me in a really good mood.

If you love fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, it’s not a crime to enjoy them sometimes. Or cheesecake. Or ice cream. Or anything else.

I love food. Like, a lot. And I have a very healthy relationship with food, because I understand the concept of moderation.

I know that maybe I shouldn’t be eating nothing but cookies and pizza and ice cream every single day.

But I also know that I can enjoy all of those things whenever I want, because I can enjoy them in moderation.

This concept of moderation is difficult for a lot of people to grasp and practice- that’s why there’s backlash about eating for enjoyment, and why some people are so against it.

If you can’t practice moderation, then of course it’s going to be an issue.

But that’s why I do what I do here. I want to help you understand and be able to practice this idea of moderation. I want you to be able to eat the foods you love without worry or hesitation.

Because nobody should have to live a life without pizza.

The EASIEST bagel recipe you’ll ever make, and r The EASIEST bagel recipe you’ll ever make, and ready in less than 15 minutes.

Technically we need 3 ingredients, but we won’t count salt here, because 3 ingredient bagels sounds way less exciting.

This is a variation of a recipe that has floated around the internet for years, so I cannot take credit. The bagels are made from some self rising flour and greek yogurt...that’s it!

You can swipe through to see each step in action, but here is how these delicious things are made.

⏺ 1.5 cups (180g) Self Rising Flour. You can also use the same amount of All Purpose Flour plus 2 teaspoons baking powder.
⏺ 180g (2/3 cup) Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurt
⏺ 1/4 Tsp Salt (use 1/2 teaspoon if using AP flour)
⏺ 1 egg for an egg wash on top

1️⃣ Add your ingredients to a bowl and mix until you have a dough ball. Use your hands to knead the dough until all the flour is absorbed.

2️⃣ Separate into 4 roughly equal sized pieces, then roll them out with your hands.

3️⃣ Add to your air fryer basket (or baking sheet if using an oven), and lightly brush with egg to help topping stick and so they become golden on top.

4️⃣ Add toppings of your choice, then air fry at 350 degrees for 10 minutes (you can adjust the time depending on how well done you want them). If using a regular oven, 375 degrees for about 20 mins should do the trick.

5️⃣ Let them sit for 10-15 minutes to firm up inside and then slice into them and enjoy!

You can slice these and freeze them, and then throw them into a toaster when ready to enjoy. Breakfast meal prep made easy!

NOTE: If your dough is too sticky, that means your yogurt had too much liquid (Chobani is my safe go-to brand here). If the dough is too thick, feel free to add a little extra Greek yogurt as needed to get a workable dough! These should be pretty forgiving.

Tag your breakfast loving friends below to give this one a try!
