The Fast Food Nutrition Calculator & Meal Builder

How To Use This Calculator

This calculator was built to include everything you could possibly need to make tracking your macros easier while eating out. Here are the main ways to use this calculator:

  1. Input your specific nutrition preferences to find any fast food menu items that fit your unique macro targets and goals.
  2. Filter by specific restaurants to browse their full menus. You can sort the results by any nutrition-related criteria to narrow it down or even search for specific items.
  3. Check “compare” next to two items to see a side-by-side nutrition comparison to help you make the best choice for your diet.
  4. The “add to meal” option allows you to build your own fast food meal and see the nutrition facts of your custom meal.
  5. Save your meal and get a custom link that allows you to access your meal at any time.

No matter how you choose to use this calculator, I hope it helps you! If you still have questions, be sure to scroll down to the FAQs at the bottom of this page.

*You’ll find the best experience on desktop since you can see more results on the screen at one time, but the tool will still work very well on mobile devices.

Send a Tip!

Many of you don’t know me (hi, I’m Matt!) and don’t realize that I am a one-man show here. My goal with this website is to provide as much free value as possible to help you on your health journey.

But, tools like this are incredibly time-consuming for me to build and keep updated, and I know there are people out there that like to show their appreciation, so I am giving you the option of leaving me a small tip for the maintenance of this calculator.

Don’t get me wrong: you absolutely do not have to tip! But if you do want to say thank you, a small tip goes a long way in helping me be able to continue building free tools like this for you in the future.

All Your Questions Answered

How do I request an update (new restaurant, menu item, or feature), or report a bug?

My plan is to continue updating this tool based on your requests so it can continue to grow and evolve. If you would like me to add a specific fast food restaurant or new feature, please request it below:

Is all of the information here accurate?

All nutritional information is taken directly from the information made publicly available through each restaurant’s official website. Since there is always a chance of user error, I highly recommend comparing your results against the corresponding restaurant’s website to make sure the information is up to date.

Fast food restaurants tend to update their nutrition facts fairly often, and while I intend to keep this as up-to-date as possible, there is always a chance that something has been updated before I was able to update it here.

What’s up with the ads?

Trust me, I know ads are incredibly annoying. I had plenty of people tell me that this tool should not be free, but I think it is way too helpful to hide behind a paywall.

In order to keep this tool free, I have some ads on this page (and throughout my site), but I made sure that they do not take away from the overall experience. Keeping your ad blocker turned off, sharing this tool with friends, or sending a tip will help keep this tool, along with future tools, completely free.

What is a “close macro match”?

When your results are returned, you may see some results that say “close macro match.” These are items that don’t fit your criteria perfectly but are considered very close.

Perfection is overrated, and I believe we should have flexibility in our diets. If a menu item is slightly off from your preferences but within a reasonable range, it will be displayed with the “close macro match” badge.

Why can’t I filter by “high fiber”?

When you use this tool, you have the option to filter low sodium, low cholesterol, low sugar, and low saturated fat. So, why not high fiber? Quite frankly, it’s because 99% of fast food items are not high in fiber. Any fast food menu items high in fiber are typically insanely high in calories, so they’re not reflective of good sources of fiber.

You have the option of sorting the results by fiber, so you can still see which items contain the most fiber.

Is dressing/sauce included for each item?

All menu items are listed as-is. If a sandwich is served with a special sauce, that sauce is included. Salad options will specify whether or not dressing is included, but other menu items are dependent on how the restaurant typically serves that item.

Why can’t I make substitutions?

I would love nothing more than to allow you full customization of every menu item, but that is simply too much for me to manage. I want this tool to continue to grow with more restaurants, and I cannot account for every substitution option out there.

Many restaurants, like Subway, are built upon substitutions and crafting your own order from scratch, but it’s not feasible for me to do that here (the exception is Chipotle, which has individual components in this tool).

For specific substitutions like leaving off sauce or a bun, head to the restaurant’s website to find their full nutrition information.

Will drinks ever be included?

Likely not. I chose to leave drinks out of this calculator for two reasons:

1. Most restaurants feature fountain drinks, which are standard across the board.

2. Other drinks, such as coffee, are far too customizable to account for all the variables.

If you want to find Starbucks-specific drinks, you can use my fully customizable Starbucks Calculator.

Why don’t some of the images match the item name?

All menu item images are limited to what the restaurants make publicly available on their respective websites. In some cases, the photo of the item will not be a perfect representation of the item itself, so it’s important to base your information on the item name instead of the image.

That being said, most of the images will match the item perfectly. There are just some cases, like a burrito containing chicken instead of steak, where that specific image is not available.

Can you turn this calculator into a mobile app?

There won’t be an official app in the App Store for the foreseeable future because there are too many restrictions on using logos and images (which are essential to this tool) and it would never get approved.

But you can add this tool to your home screen right now!

In your browser, click on the “share” icon inside or below the address bar. There, you’ll see an “Add to Home Screen” option. This will add an icon to your phone that will open up directly to this page and act like an official app would!
