If you’ve had iced coffee before, this is NOT the same thing. Iced coffee is just putting your usual hot coffee over ice- as you can see here, this is a different process. It takes a little patience, but the result is smoother, less bitter, and much more delicious than hot coffee.
This will allow you to make a cold brew concentrate, because who wants to keep a giant pitcher in the fridge? Ain’t nobody got room for that.
There are plenty of tips in the post, but one thing I want to reiterate is that I always let the coffee steep at room temperature. I used to brew in the fridge overnight, and it works, but I’ve found the flavor to be surprisingly better letting it do its thing at room temperature.
If you insist on drinking hot coffee, you can actually heat up cold brew! The “cold” in the name just refers to the way it is brewed, not necessarily how you have to drink it. If you want the most delicious hot cup of coffee you’ve ever had with virtually no bitterness, give it a try!
