Calories in Every Type of Oreo Cookie

Oreo Cookies are one of the best cookies out there.

With crunchy chocolate cookies and a delicious cream filling, there’s really no better combination out there.

Since they’re so delicious, it’s not uncommon to polish off a bunch of Oreo cookies in one sitting. There’s nothing particularly wrong with that (we believe every food is totally fine in moderation around here) but those calories can add up pretty quickly.

If you’ve ever wondered how many calories are in Oreo cookies, I’ll break down every type of Oreo out there on the market for you to see the differences.

I’ll list the nutrition facts for a single cookie, but since serving sizes may vary, I will also list the nutrition facts you can expect to find on the packages.

Fun fact: When I was going to write this post, I typed “calories in Oreos” and it didn’t look quite right. I’ve come to find out that the plural of Oreo is still just Oreo. It seems like they can be used interchangeably, but “Oreos” is not used very much, if at all… the more you know!

Calories in Every Type of Oreo

Can you eat Oreo cookies while dieting?

If you’re reading this post, clearly you are someone who cares about your calorie consumption in some capacity.

And as you probably know, calories are the driving force behind managing your weight (being in a calorie deficit leads to weight loss, and being in a calorie surplus leads to weight gain).

Many people wonder if they can eat Oreo cookies or other treats that are not considered particularly healthy while dieting.

Let me put your mind at ease: you can 100% enjoy Oreo cookies while dieting!

As long as you keep your calories in-check and don’t go overboard, no single food will ever be off-limits. Are Oreo cookies healthy? By most definitions of the word, no, they’re not. But that doesn’t mean they cannot be enjoyed!

Enjoying some Oreo cookies will never de-rail your progress.

But if you’re truly concerned and you do want a healthy, high-protein version, check out my Protein Oreo recipe that will blow your mind.

Ingredients in Oreo cookies

We’re going to explore the general nutrition of each type of Oreo cookie, and we won’t dive into the specific ingredients for each.

However, knowing the ingredients of what you are consuming is also very helpful, so here are the ingredients for an original Oreo cookie:

Unbleached Enriched Flour (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate {Vitamin B1), Riboflavin {Vitamin B2}, Folic Acid), Sugar, Palm and/or Canola Oil, Cocoa Powder (Processed with Alkali), High Fructose Corn Syrup, Leavening (Baking Soda and/or Calcium Phosphate), Salt, Soy Lecithin, Chocolate, Artificial Flavor.

Note: many people are afraid to consume high fructose corn syrup, but my motto is that any ingredient will always be okay in moderation. Even if it is not an ideal ingredient, the amount you are consuming from eating the occasional Oreo snack is totally acceptable!

We’re going to look at the calories (and full nutrition facts) for each type of Oreo out there. In addition to listing the nutrition facts that you’ll find on the package, we’ll also list the nutrition facts and calories for a single cookie to make the comparison as straightforward as possible.

A quick note on fat content: Oreo cookies will contain a small amount of saturated fat in each cookie, but they do not contain any trans fat. I have listed total fat for each cookie rather than differentiating the types.
