Stop searching for the quick fix. When all is said and done, it doesn’t matter how long it takes- it matters that you didn’t give up.
We are always on the hunt for instant gratification. If we can’t see results immediately, then it’s a waste of our time. That’s why people turn to apple cider vinegar and fat burners and waist slimmers to lose weight- we want results NOW.
Slow. It. Down.
It’s okay if you’ve only lost 5 pounds in the past 2 months. That is still progress! It may not be the same amount of progress you were hoping for, but you’re still moving in the right direction, and that is what truly matters.
If your goal is to lose 20 pounds, who cares if you don’t achieve that before this summer? When next March rolls around and you’re looking back, is it really going to matter that you hit your goal weight in November and not in June? Of course not!! You’re just going to be THRILLED that you reached your goal.
Whether your goals revolve around weight loss, strength building, your career, your relationships, it doesn’t matter- what matters is that you continue working towards your goals. If you set strict deadlines for yourself for no reason, you’re only setting yourself up to fail.
Some weeks you’re going to see no progress. You’re going to experience setbacks. It’s going to be discouraging sometimes.
That’s all part of the journey.
Stay focused on the big picture and keep working towards your goals. Whether they take you 1 month or 1 year, you’re on the right track. Taking the slow approach isn’t the most appealing, but it’s the most sustainable. Don’t be discouraged if it’s taking longer than you had hoped- that’s totally normal.
Keep going. You’ve got this.?
