How To View Dieting

No matter what you set out to accomplish, there’s never a straight path to your goal.

When dieting, too many people expect to consistently lose weight until they reach their goal. The moment an obstacle presents itself, it feels like game over.

The thing you have to realize is that there are ALWAYS going to be obstacles. And it’s not always about avoiding them. Sometimes it just means simply letting them come and go.

When trying to lose weight, every day isn’t going to be easy. Life happens. Parties, vacations, nights out, stress, they’re all a part of a normal life. And that’s okay! These things don’t need to be avoided. They’re going to come, and you have to simply move past them.

Think back to good ol’ Super Mario. When one of those little fellas starts marching at you, you don’t call it quits and turn the game off. You know he’s coming, so you either take care of that sucker or jump over him and move on towards the finish. If you have a vacation coming up, maybe that means temporarily going off your diet. But your goal is still right on the other side.

The point is, you can’t just put your life on hold when you’re dieting. If you do that, you’re only setting yourself up to fail. Life isn’t going to stop, and we don’t want it to!

Sticking with the video game analogy- it’s damn near impossible to get a perfect score. Some levels are going to be easier than others. Sometimes you’ll struggle. But hey, that’s life. Every single day isn’t going to be easy or perfect. But that’s all part of the journey.

Embrace the process and have some fun along the way. You deserve it.
