Almonds & other nuts make awesome snacks, but there’s no denying that the calories and fat can add up quickly if you’re not careful. Roasted beans are an incredible alternative to nuts, with lower calories, less fat and just as much protein!

@eatenlightened mostly markets their ice cream, understandably so, but they sell these incredible broad bean crisps too! Broad beans (also known as fava beans) are low in fat and packed with protein, and they offer a very satisfying crunch. A lot of brands also sell chickpea snacks, which are comparable, but less satisfying in my opinion. If you’re fortunate enough to have these at a local store, pick them up to give them a try! Definitely worth it. Especially the sriracha flavor! If you’re worried that these are too expensive, I picked up a bag containing about 5 servings for $3.50.
