10 Fitness & Nutrition Tips for Beginners

If you have no idea where to start- start right here.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all of the information out there, especially when so much if it is often conflicting. There are 100s of tips I can give you, but here are 10 that I find to be incredibly important.

I’ve been at this whole fitness thing for about 12 years now, and I’m still learning every single day. Nobody has all the answers. If you’re new to this, just remember that we have ALL been in your shoes before. Nobody is judging you (and if they are, screw them!) and people are way more willing to help than you think. If you don’t know how to do an exercise, I promise you that somebody will be willing to help you.

One thing I wish I had done differently early on is take progress photos. I always felt so petty taking photos of myself, so I would never do it. And then after a few years, I thought “well now it’s too late because I’ve already made so much progress”. If only I had taken photos along the way, it would be the perfect reminder on just how far I have come. Don’t be embarrassed to log your progress!

The last item on this list is SO important. I want you to take a moment to let it sink in.

Don’t let your fitness journey distract you from what is truly important in your life. Yes, living a healthy life is important. But if you are freaking out because you have to miss the gym to go on the greatest vacation of your life, you’re taking it too far. Or if you can’t enjoy a family reunion out of fear of not being able to track your food, you’re taking it too far.

This health journey is only a part of your life- it’s not your entire life.
